About Ask Eartha

Ask Eartha is a small Australian project that helps grown-ups answer the nature questions children actually ask, without turning story time into a research project.

Why it exists

It started with a kid, a walk and a question no adult in the group could answer: why do wombats do square poos? The answer took ten minutes of scrolling past ads, forums and articles written for adults.

Children ask dozens of these a week. Ask Eartha exists so the answer arrives in seconds, in language a five year old understands, with an activity to try and a note for the adult about what is actually being learned.

Who makes it

Ask Eartha is built and maintained by an independent Australian team of parents working with primary teachers who review the curriculum notes and the tone of published answers. We are not a data company, an advertising network or a curriculum publisher.

What we believe

Curiosity should never be shut down. Climate topics for children should be honest, gentle and action-focused, never frightening. And a tool used by children should be transparent about being AI — which is why how Eartha works and how we check answers are public pages, not fine print.
